We are a small, well-established tax and accounting firm based in Michigan, near Toledo, Ohio with a diverse and interesting clientele. Our clients include individuals and families, successful creative professionals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Position Overview
The Tax Manager will assist our firm in navigating tax issues for our clients with a primary focus on tax preparation and planning. This challenging position will draw upon tax research, accounting, and problem-solving skills. Typical projects include reviewing in house prepared individual, business, and trust tax returns for clients with tax planning, and related consulting projects. The Tax Manager can expect engagement with a wide range of tax compliance and planning issues and will be expected to serve as a resource for junior staff. The Tax Manager will handle an inventory of projects and may directly prepare all or portions of tax returns as needed. The Tax Manager will receive ongoing training and mentorship from partners in our close-knit team. There is never a dull day in tax!
The successful candidate will be ethical, motivated, diligent, detail-oriented, and organized. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with clients and colleagues who are offsite. This position is intended to be hybrid from our Lambertville, Michigan location and for the right candidate we will consider 100% remote.
Work Life Balance is a key trait of our firm and commitment. During tax season, Mid-January through the end of April our team is available 40 to 45 hours per week. Then May through the end of December we work Monday through Thursday with our offices being closed on Friday's.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Be the primary point of contact for clients. Lead meetings, presentations, and advise clients on financial matters. This is a client-facing role!
- Prepare, review, and sign-off on corporate & individual tax returns.
- Host tax planning kickoff zooms, implementation zooms and quarterly zooms to help provide tax advisory services to our clients throughout the year.
- Prepare, review, and sign-off on personal & corporate tax returns
- Assist with various tax audits and respond to tax notices our clients receive.
- Manage 100-120 clients independently and as part of a small team.
- Handle 80-90% of your work independently without a high level of instruction.
- Perform self-reviews as necessary to ensure high quality of work.

Requirements
- Enrolled Agent Designation or Certified Public Accounting certification
- 3+ Years of recent experience in tax preparation
- Familiarity with IRS Regulations
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field {Will consider relative experience in lieu of non-degree.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to supervise multiple engagements simultaneously
- Will consider for the right candidate 100% remote for this position
- Position considered full time, 40 to 45 hours per week tax season, 32 hours per week off season {Friday's off}
