- Director of Tax Strategies - CPA / High Net Worth Clients
Description
This is a hybrid role based in the Greater Mclean VA / Tysons Corner area. In this role, you will NOT be preparing taxes! Rather you will be focused on helping high-net-worth clientele with tax planning and strategies. But the exciting thing about this role is that we're looking for someone not just with the technical skills to get the job done but also the desire and drive to build out our tax planning offering to add more value to our client's long term.
Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus revenue share program with aggressive salary increases and "bonuses" based on company growth/performance. This program has proven very lucrative over the last 10 years for employees.
Our client does not prepare taxes - Rather they are a top Wealth Management Firm that provides comprehensive financial planning, retirement and tax planning, estate planning, risk management, and investment management services. The company manages approximately $5 billion in assets on behalf of clients
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build out the tax planning and strategy offering over the long term to our clientele
Answering client and staff tax-related questions with a heavy focus currently on Roth conversions and Secure Act 2.0 considerations
Review of clients’ tax returns.
Provide recommendations, consult on, and comparisons of proposed strategies.
Pro forma tax projections.
Interface with client tax preparers.
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience in the tax industry. Experience working with high-net-worth clients is preferred.
An entrepreneurial mindset - The desire and vision to build something a tax planning and strategy offering that adds significant value to our clients.
Client service-oriented mindset.
Experience/familiarity with fiduciary income tax advisory is a plus.
Familiarity with ProSystems SFX Tax Software is a plus.
Enrolled Agent or CPA required.
CFP (Certified Financial Planner) is a plus
PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) is a plus but not required. (Credential granted to CPAs with tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning)
A Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting with a focus in Taxation. Masters in Taxation preferred, but not required.
